1. The mass flow controller for high-precision gases.
Our mass flow controller for gases from the American company Sierra allows us to guarantee our customers an accurate injection of carbon dioxide (CO2). This guarantee is key in the production of high quality beer and beverages.
How does our mass flow controller work?
Carbon dioxide (CO2) mass flow control is a crucial part of the brewing process for high quality beers and beverages.
It is critical that beverage manufacturers have the ability to control the exact amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) that is injected into their beverages during the bottling process.
Mass flow controllers (MFC) are used to regulate and control the amount ofCO2 injected into the cylinders. Both during filling and capping it guarantees product uniformity. This operation is shown in the following graph.

Operation of mass flow controller during beer bottling process
During the bottling process, the injection of too muchCO2 will result in an excessively carbonated beverage. This could result in broken bottles. This, in turn, can lead to a safety problem in the plant, as well as to product loss caused by accidental spillage.
However, poorCO2 injection will cause the beer to have very little flavor. In either situation, we are talking about a batch of beverages that should be discarded, which would also result in a loss of product. What’s more, all of this can lead to significant costs for the company and affect business margins.
We have observed that many companies use volumetric flow rate and differential pressure for gas flow control inCO2 injection. However, volumetric flow meters are not the most suitable for this application. This is due in part to the high variability of the required flow rate during start-up and periods of low production.
3. The excellent performance of the MaxTrak 180 model
DirectCO2 mass flow rate, measured with thermal dispersion mass controllers such as the MaxTrak 180, provides a reliable, stable, accurate and repeatable flow rate. In essence, counting and controlling every molecule of gas flowing through the equipment. This results in high precision.
In addition, this model of mass flow controller is not affected by gas temperature, nor by pressure fluctuations upstream of the equipment. Therefore, the control of the gas mass flow rate is direct and unambiguous.
MaxTrak meets industrial MFC (Mass Flow Controller) requirements with IP67 protection. It provides reliable and uniform mass flow essential for the beverage and brewing industry.

The thermal dispersion gas mass flow meter (capillary by-pass type) with integrated flow control valve (flow controller), model MaxTrak 180 forCO2 injection, is a suitable technological solution for the beverage industry.
